The International Business of Science

Multilingual, resilient, and passionate about international business, Mia Rosal embodies the face of international trade at Kalstein.

From Caracas to Montpellier, from trade shows in China to tenders in Iraq, her journey is marked by an insatiable curiosity and a remarkable ability to turn challenges into opportunities.

🌍 A Truly International Journey

Born in Venezuela, Mia obtained a degree in business management, complemented by certifications in brand management and foreign languages. She continued her education in France with a master’s degree in international SME management.

Her professional path quickly aligned with Kalstein.
“It’s been 100% Kalstein from the beginning,” she says.

Starting as a sales assistant and translator at trade shows in Colombia, Germany, China, and Brazil, she gradually moved up to the position of International Sales Manager, gaining a global and strategic perspective of the markets.

🌐 Passion for International Business

For Mia, working internationally is primarily about embracing diversity and complexity.
“I’ve always enjoyed negotiations and problem solving,” she explains.
Cultural differences, languages, and mentalities are real levers for her to enrich her work.
“It’s the difficulty that tells us if we really love a field or not.”

✈️ Marathon Travels, A Global Perspective

The pace is intense on the ground.
“In China, we visited two or three manufacturers a day, hopping between trains, taxis, and meetings. It was tiring, but also a unique experience to understand their culture, even at the dinner table.”
These missions strengthened a strong belief: human relationships are at the heart of international business.

🎯 A Central and Demanding Role

As the manager of the international sales team, Mia:

  • Coordinates sales and orders,
  • Maintains relationships with manufacturers,
  • Ensures adherence to deadlines and logistics,
  • Follows international tenders, particularly in strategic markets like Iraq.
“It’s important to be autonomous, but also to focus on the team’s goals. I love seeing the customer base grow and the team strengthen.”

💡 Resilience, Communication, and Humanity

For Mia, the key skill remains resilience:
“Unexpected events are constant, but you must learn to analyze before reacting.”
Organization, communication, and teamwork are her daily pillars.
“Communication is key because, in the end, everything is done as a team.”
Even remotely, she nurtures human connections with her clients:
“Even though it’s business, we’re still human. I try to adapt to each personality, and my accent often helps break the ice.”

🔎 Memorable Experiences and Vision

Not all experiences are simple. She remembers a contract won in Syria, which was later canceled due to political reasons.
“It was tough, but it taught me to always analyze the context before committing.”
On the other hand, international trade shows remain standout moments:
“Three days of intense exchanges with clients and partners from all over the world. It’s unique.”
